Nature invented the first pinhole camera, and in this presention, we'll explore how light and shadow play on the ground and on walls to reveal images of the Sun and measure the passing of time. Based on these richly illustrated observations, we will propose a project to reveal live images of the sun on a selected wall in Doha, set near reflective and universal sundials. 

Many composers have depicted light in their works, but few have done it with such overwhelming effect as Richard Strauss in his tone poem "An Alpine Symphony." Composed in 1915, the work follows the climb of an Alpine mountain from daybreak to nightfall.

The Creative Writing Circle is an opportunity for creative writers to come together and share their work. The group will provide inspiration, feedback and encouragement in a supportive environment. So whatever stage you’re at, come along and get writing!

You might have writing talents, but knowing where to begin your creative journey can be difficult. In the Creative Writing Skills workshop, Andalous Ibrahim will show you how to write different pieces: articles, stories, and text for radio and TV. You will also learn simple methods to use your skills to effectively deliver information. 

In this hands-on workshop, we'll use the tools in our Innovation Station to learn how to build electric circuits.

In the Inspiring Individuals series of events, you'll meet individuals who have distinguished themselves in the Qatari society and hear their inspiring stories.

Is that a Diplodocus? Or a Tyrannosaurus rex? In this fun activity, children will learn about many types of dinosaurs, how to identify them and can craft their favorite one!

Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and projects or borrow the Library’s needles and yarn. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners who are interested in learning.
