In this event, we highlight the traditional dishes, such as Qatari coffee, which is indispensable in all Qatari homes and social events, that remain a part of Qatari cuisine despite the emergence of modern foods. Join Chef Hissa Al Sulaiti and prepare a special traditional dish. We welcome everyone, including beginners and those who want to learn the art of cooking, to this event. Qatar National Library, in cooperation with Msheireb Museums, is screening a film that tells the stories of four houses in Msheireb, built by hands that strived to create a better future for Qatar. These stories are a source of inspiration for Qatari youth to continue the path of growth and prosperity.

Wikithon is an event in which people come together to learn how to edit, improve and enrich the contents of Wikipedia. This year, the Library’s Qatar National Day Wikithon will focus on editing and enriching Arabic and English pages on Qatari-themed topics, including history, nature and more. We invite all enthusiasts to come and join this third edition of Wikithon at the Library. 

How do you search for a manuscript? How do you choose the correct historical manuscript for study or publishing? These are initial questions that come to the minds of students or researchers who embark on their journey of dealing with Islamic-Arabic manuscripts, either for editing and publishing, studying them physically (codicology and paleography) or artistically (arts of the book), or other disciplines of scholarship. Scholars and intellectuals interested in history, classical texts and intellectual heritage, and those who want to read primary sources in their original form might be interested in the same questions.
