Join us for storytime at Qatar National Library. We will read stories and make up our own together.

Qatar National Library (QNL), in collaboration with Dar al-Makhtutat, Qatar Foundation and the Istanbul Sultanahmet Foundation, is hosting a series of seminars dedicated to exploring the preservation, production and illumination of manuscripts of the Qur’an. These seminars will examine the meticulous craftsmanship and artistic traditions that have shaped these manuscripts over the centuries.

Qatar National Library offers you a rare opportunity to learn from Ajay Sharma, a Jaipuri master in Indo-Islamic miniature painting, about the preparation of natural stone pigments and the basics of the painting process. The event will begin with a discussion about miniatures with Islamic art specialist Dr. Jochen Sokoly, followed by a live demonstration from the artist.The event is being held in collaboration with VCUarts Qatar and is part of the programming for the exhibition "From Material to Market: The Art of the Book in Morocco", running at QNL from 26 November 2024 to 26 April 2025. 

Join us for the fourth season of the QNL Engage podcast series. In each episode, we host a distinguished guest to discuss various topics and issues. The title of this episode is "The History of the Establishment of the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ansari Complex and its Achievements (Part One)," featuring Faisal Al-Ansari, the executive director of the complex, who will discuss its history and the cultural journey and educational achievements of the late Sheikh Abdullah.

The lecture will cover the geographical extension of Beit Qatraei, and the origin of the word "Qatraei", as well as the region's commercial and social activities.
